Background Story

A dance school travels to Paris for a performance. During rehearsals, fifteen-year-old dancer Amy begins to struggle with self-doubt and anxiety, finding it increasingly difficult to focus on her dancing. While visiting the Palace of Versailles with her school, she becomes lost in thought as she gazes at her reflection in the Hall of Mirrors. Immersed in her worries, she unexpectedly slips into a world from the past, where she encounters a mysterious dancer dressed in Baroque attire who introduces himself as “Louis.”

Following Louis through this historical realm, Amy embarks on a journey to discover the original spirit and meaning of ballet. Along the way, she learns to confront and reconcile with her fears and insecurities, gradually transforming into a stronger, braver, and freer dancer.

Through her encounters with figures from history, Amy finds parallels to her own struggles and draws inspiration from their experiences. Blending reality with fantasy, the work explores the inner world of a young dancer and reflects on the deeper meaning of dance. It tells a story of courage, self-discovery, and personal growth—of overcoming one’s inner demons, building confidence, and finding the strength that comes from within.
